BP Barber is one of the oldest and largest consulting engineering firms in the Southeast. Founded in 1916, B.P. Barber has grown to be a comprehensive provider of high-quality, value-added civil and environmental engineering services and is currently the third largest engineering firm in the state of South Carolina. In 2007, B.P. Barber was named one of the 'Top 500 Design Firms in the Country' by Engineering News Record, a prestigious award in the industry. The company is headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, with regional offices in Charleston, Spartanburg, Florence, Charlotte and Savannah.
Bryan Kizer, Senior Project Manager for B.P. Barber, was instrumental in the design and development of Hunley Waters. In addition to bringing in massive amounts of soil to raise the site for more picturesque views, B.P. Barber also designed and installed the stormwater retention pond, which will serve to stop flooding and reduce pollutants.
"This is the first development of its type to really come to fruition in the North Charleston area," says Kizer. "We feel that Hunley Waters will serve as a catalyst for both commercial and residential growth in the North area, and we are excited to be a part of the project."
