The landscaping at Hunley Waters, designed by the renowned design firm, DesignWorks, LLC in Charleston, also plays a major role in the sustainability of the community. The ultimate goal of DesignWorks when drafting the master plan was to preserve and protect the quality of the environment within the neighborhood, and to create a real sense of place for residents. To accomplish this, the design team employed a native landscape palette, utilizing a beautiful array of flora and fauna commonly found in the Lowcountry, including plants and trees such as:

Not only does this landscape create a truly authentic coastal feel, but it has a minimal impact on the surrounding environment, both protecting and restoring the natural ecosystem.

The Hunley Waters landscaping plan also includes a central pond with an ornamental fountain, tree-lined sidewalks, and a walking trail along the surrounding marsh. The look of the landscaping at Hunley Waters melds seamlessly with the Southern feel of the neighborhood, creating an overall effect that is natural, private and visually stunning.
